Ivan Gelfand, America’s Money Man™

With better than 50 years experience, Ivan Gelfand is frequently known as the “Father of Institutional Cash Management.” With his entrepreneurial talents and his investment expertise, he formed two successful money management companies, Gelfand, Quinn & Associates and Gelfand Partners Asset Management (later merged with Maxus Investment Group) with billions of dollars in assets which were sold to Prudential Securities, Inc., and Fifth Third Bank, respectively. Mr. Gelfand is currently advising and consulting, with money managers, corporations, banks, and individual clients, on money management and macroeconomics.

He is a professional public speaker, also working with law firms as an expert witness, jury consultant, and trial consultant in financial cases, primarily dealing with broker disputes; security investments; investment asset allocation; bond and stock markets; financial planning; money management and macroeconomics; and related subjects.

Mr. Gelfand is a highly sought after speaker, lecturer and instructor. His appearances have taken him from coast to coast and to Hawaii. He has guest lectured at Florida Atlantic University, John Carroll University, Case Western Reserve University, and Baldwin-Wallace University, on investments and money management at the graduate and doctoral levels.

In addition, Mr. Gelfand hosted a local, successful and very popular, weekly radio talk show – “Financial Week in Review™.” He was a regular guest on Cleveland’s Fox 8 television; Cleveland’s WEWS television, channel 5 – “Good Morning Cleveland“; and Cleveland’s WKYC television, channel 3.

Mr. Gelfand is a frequent guest on national and local radio and television panel shows. He is regularly interviewed for newspaper and magazine articles. Mr. Gelfand is currently doing two-minute prime time commercial vignettes – Gelfand’s Financial Tidbits – on Cleveland’s FM classical music radio station, WCLV.

Mr. Gelfand authors articles for local and national publications. He was the money market columnist for the “National Thrift News,” a savings institution publication. He co-authored two global investment newsletters for the thrift industry, corporations, and individuals. He currently authors a monthly economic and investment newsletter. He produced a series of financial television vignettes shown across the United States. He authored a book -”Your Money Your Future“™, available in all major bookstores in the United States and online at various websites, including Amazon.com and on his website - ivangelfand.com.

Mr. Gelfand has also been a movie participant in the short historical documentary – “The Messenger” and is currently doing television and publication commercials and voice-overs.

Mr. Gelfand is an active community leader. He is past President of the Cleveland Business Economist Club; and he is listed in the Marquis’ “Who’s Who in the World”“; “Who’s Who in America”“Who’s Who in the Midwest”; and “Who’s Who in the Finance Industry”.

Mr. Gelfand is a graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and the Columbia University School of Banking. He attended the Case-Western Reserve University graduate school.
